It is small but I do like that the bed is in a loft so it’s separate from the rest of the house so unless your like me and wake up multiple times a night to use the bathroom lol it would be pretty cool. Also the fact she’s only there 18 months tops I think since the location is good for her, the rental agreement is super easy and perfect for her situation and she has everything she needs. I’m sure she’s out enjoying the city and living in Japan and not in her apartment all day every day.

My daughter lived for a year in Miyazaki and her studio flat was tiny as well and expensive but she really enjoyed it because it was only a few minutes cycling from the school where she worked in the city centre. I live in London and in the flat I was renting for the past 8 years I had exactly the same problem with the shower drains. It took me a while to find out where those tiny flies were coming from. And when I lifted the shower drain it was even worse than that. So afterwards I cleaned it regularly because the smell is vile. I love her flat. Like the fact that the bedroom is upstairs. I would need that as well. Never been to Japan but would definitely love to go there.

Ok, it’s impressive how this all works, but this is just really sad. Humans need space. This should honestly be illegal.

Wow! That’s crazy! I live alone (divorced and my 2 daughters are grown and have their own homes) in Mississippi and my house note (3bed/1 bath bring home built in the 1960’s) is not that much! I pay less than $500 a month and that includes my taxes and insurance!

You wouldn't be able to find your own private apartment in Toronto for that low a price - only shared accommodation. Sure, her apartment is super small, but she doesn't need to deal with roommates, she has her own kitchen and washroom etc. Personally, I wish options like that were available here.

I will fall down the ladder every morning, seriously. I can't live in a place where the bed is accessed through treehouse' ladders in place of normal stairs. Because every morning I'm always stumbling around half-awake, and going down the ladder means breaking my neck instantly. My kudos to anyone who can live in such a place.

Love it! If I wasn't a mother. I'd definitely try something like this! efficient and simple. Really it's all you really need.. people these days are so wasteful and greedy even with space.

What if there is a fire, could one just exit from the balcony. Otherwise, it is very cool

Tbh I’d hate to live in an apartment that small but then again, it’s cheaper than most of the apartments in America and is in a world class city, we’ve got people paying double that here to rent or lease apartments and homes in cookie cutter suburbs with nothing to do
