LIVE: Joe Biden Inaugurated As President (Jan. 20)
Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated. My fellow Americans a moment we have all been waiting for it is now my great privilege and high honor to be the first person to officially introduce the forty-six president of the United States. Joseph R Biden junior. Chief Justice Roberts Vice President Harris Speaker Pelosi leader Schumer McConnell Vice President Pence my distinguished guest my fellow Americans This is America's This is Democracy Day a day of history and hope of renewal and resolve through a crucible for the ages. America has been tested a new and America has. To the challenge today we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate but of a cause because of democracy the people, the will of the people has been heard and the will of the people has been heated. We've learned again that that democracy is democracy is fragile at this this hour. My democracy has prevailed. So now on this hollow ground, we're just a few days ago violence sought to shake the capital's very foundation We come together as one nation under God Indivisible to carry out the peaceful transfer of power as we have for more than two centuries as we look ahead in our uniquely American way Restless bold optimistic. And set our sights on the nation. We know we can be and we must be. I thank my predecessors are both parties for their presence here today I thank them from the bottom of my heart and I know. And I know the resilience of our constitution and the strength the strength of our nation has does President Carter, who I spoke with last night who cannot be with us today, but whom we salute for his lifetime and service. I've just taken the sacred oath each of those Patriots have taken the oath first sworn by George Washington but the American story depends not on anyone of us not on some of us but on all of us and we the people who seek a more perfect union. This is a great nation We are good people and over the century. Storm and strife in peace and a war We've come so far, but we still have far to go. We'll press forward with speed and urgency for we have much to do in this winter apparel and significant possibilities much to repair much to restore much to heal much to build and much to gain. Few people in our nation's history have been more challenged or found a time more challenging or difficult than the time We're in now once in a century virus, it only stalks the country is taken as many lives in 1 year as America lost in all of World War two millions of jobs have been lost hundreds of thousands of businesses closed a cry for. Justice some 400 years in the making moves us the dream of justice for all will be deferred no longer. A cry for survival comes from planet itself a cry that can't be anymore desperate or anymore clear and now arise of political extremism. white supremacy domestic terrorism that we must confront and we will defeat. To overcome these challenges to restore the soul and secure the future of America requires so much more than words it requires the most elusive of all things in a democracy Unity unity in another January on New Year's day in 1863, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation proclamation. When you put pen to paper, the president said, And I quote if my name ever goes down into history, it'll be for this act and my whole soul is in it. My whole soul was in it today I missed January day. my whole soul was in this bringing America together, uniting our people unite in our nation and I ask every American to join me in this cause. Uniting to fight the foes we face anger, resentment and extremism lawlessness violence disease, joblessness and hopelessness with unity We can do great things important things we can write wrongs, We can put people to work in good jobs. We can teach our children in safe schools. we can overcome the deadly virus we can reward. Reward work and rebuild the middle class and make health care secure for all we can deliver racial justice and we can make America once again leading force for good in the world. I know speaking of unity can sound to some like a foolish fantasy these days. I know the forces that divide us are deep and they are real, but I also know they are not new Our history has been a constant struggle between the American ideal and we're all created equal and the harsh ugly reality that racism fear immunization. A long torn torn us the battle is perennial and victory is never assured through civil war. The Great Depression World War 911 through struggle sacrifice and setbacks are better angels have always prevailed. In each of these moments enough of us enough of us have come together to carry all of us forward and we can do that now history faith and reason show the way the way of unity we we can see each not as adversaries, but as neighbors we can treat each other with dignity and respect we can join forces stop the shouting and lower the temperature without. There is no peace only bitterness and fury no progress only exhausting outrage No nation only a state of chaos This is our historic moment of crisis and challenge in unity is the path forward and we must meet this moment as the United States of America. if we do that. I guarantee you we will not fail we have never ever failed in America We've acted together and so today at this time in this place, let's start a fresh all of us. Let's begin to listen to one another again. hear one another see one another show respect to one another politics doesn't have to be a raging fire destroying everything in it. Every disagreement doesn't have to be a cause for total war and we must reject the culture in which facts themselves are manipulated and even manufacture. My fellow Americans we have to be different than this America has to be better than this and I believe America is so much better than this. just look around here we stand in the shadow of the capital Dome as was mentioned earlier completed amid the civil war when the union itself was literally hanging in the balance that we endured we prevail here we stand looking out at the Great Mall where Doctor King. Folk of his dream here we stand we're 108 years ago at another inaugural thousands of protesters tried to block brave women marching for the right to vote and today we mark the swearing as the first woman in American history elected the National Office Vice president Kama Harris don't tell me things can't change. Here we stand across the Potomac from Arlington Cemetery. where heroes who gave the last full measure of devotion to rest in eternal peace and here we stand just days after a mom thought they could use violence to silence the will of the people to stop the work of our democracy to drive us from this sacred ground. It did not happen It will never happen. Not today not tomorrow not ever not ever. For all those who supported our campaign, I'm humbled by the faith you've placed in us to all those who did not support us. Let me say this hear me out as we move forward. Take a measure of me and my heart if you still disagree so be it that's democracy. That's America the right to descent peacefully, then the guardrails of our republic is perhaps this nation's greatest strength. Yeah, hear me clearly disagreement must not lead to this union and I pledge this to you. I will be a president for all Americans all Americans. And I promise you, I will fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did. Many centuries ago Saint Augustine, a saying in my church, wrote to the people was a multitude defined by the common objects of their love defined by the common objects of their love. What are the common objects we as America's love that define us as Americans? I think we know opportunity security security Dignity respect honor and yes. Truth. Recent weeks and months have taught us a painful lesson there is truth and there are lies lies toll for power and for profit and each of us has a duty and a responsibility as citizens as Americans and especially as leaders who have pledged to honor our constitution and protect our nation to defend the truth and defeat the lies look. I understand that many of my fellow Americans view the future was fear and trepidation. I understand they worry about their jobs. I understand like my dad, they lay in bed staring at the at night staring at the ceiling wondering. Can I keep my health care? Can I pay my mortgage thinking about their families about what comes next? I promise you. I get it. But the answer is not to turn inward to retreat into competing factions. distrusting those who don't look like look like you or worship the way you do or don't get their news in the same sources you do we must end this uncivil war the pits red against blue rural versus Ireland or rural versus urban conservative versus liberal. We can do this. If we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts if we show a little tolerance and humility and if we're willing to stand in the other person's shoes as my mom would say just for a moment stand in their shoes. Because here's the thing about life. There's no accounting for which faith will you. Some days when you need a hand, there are other days when we're called to lend a hand that's how it has to be. It's what we do for one another and if we are this way, our country will be stronger more prosperous more ready for the the and we can still disagree my fellow Americans in the work ahead of us. We're gonna need each other We need all. Our strength to preserve to persevere through this dark winter, We're entering what may be the toughest and deadliest period of the virus must set aside politics and finally face this pandemic as one nation One nation and I promise you this as the Bible, says weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning we will get through this together. Look folks all my colleagues I serve with in the house and the Senate up here. We all understand the world is watching all of us today so here's my message to those beyond our borders America has been tested and we've come out stronger for it We will repair our alliances and engage with the rural once again not again meet yesterday's challenges, but today's and tomorrow's challenges. And will lead not merely by the example of our power, but by the power of our example. Will be a strong and trusted partner for peace progress and security look you all know we've been through so much in this nation. And my first act as president like to ask you to join me in a moment of silent prayer. Remember all those who we lost this past year to the pandemic, those 400000 fellow Americans moms dads husbands wives sons daughters, friends, neighbors and coworkers will honor them becoming the people and the nation. We know we can and should be or ask you. Let's say a silent prayer for those who've lost their lives and those left behind and for our country. Amen folks this time of testing we face an attack on democracy and untruth era virus growing inequity the state of systemic racism, a climate and crisis America's role in the world. one of these moving enough to challenge us in profound ways, but the fact is we face them all at once. In this nation with one of greatest responsibilities we've had now we're gonna be tested. Are we gonna step up all this? It's time for boldness for there's so much to do and this is certain. I promise you we will be judged you and IX how we resolve these cascading crisis of our era We will rise to the occasion is the question Will we master this rare and difficult hour when we meet our obligations and pass along a new and better world to our children, I believe we must. I'm sure you do as well. I believe we will and when we do, we'll write the next great. Chapter in the history of the United States of America, The American Story a story that might sound something like a song that means a lot to me is called American anthem. There's one verse that stands out at least for me and it goes like this. The work and prayers of century have brought us to this day. What shall be our legacy? What will our children say? let me know. My heart when my days are through America, I gave my best to you. Let's add let's us add our own work and prayers to the unfolding story of our great nation If we do this. Then when our days are through our children and our children's children will save us, they gave their best they did their duty. They healed the broken land. My fellow Americans eye closed the day where I began with the sacred oath before God and all of you. I give you my word, I will always level with you. I will defend the constitution. I'll defend our democracy. I'll defend America and will give all of you keep everything you I do in your service thinking not a power, but a possibilities not a personal interest, but the public good and together we shall write in. Story of Hope not Fear of unity, Not Division of light, Not Darkness a story of decency and dignity love and healing greatness and goodness May this be the story that guides us the story that inspires us and the story that tells ages yet to come that we answer the call of history We meet the moment, democracy and hope. Truth and justice did not die in our watch, but thrive that America's secured liberty at home and stood once again as a beacon to the world. That is what we owe our four bears one another and generation to follow so with purpose and resolve we turn to those task of our time sustained by faith driven by conviction devoted to one another and. We love with all our hearts May God bless America and May God protect our troops. Thank you America. Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Garth Brooks to perform amazing grace. Oh, grace How sweet the sound that saved her? me. How you are so lost but now I am. was blind but now I see. When we been there ten. 10000 years the We know less days to see God's grace then when we first be god, I ask you to sing this last verse with me, not just the people here but the people at home at work as one. United. Oh See grace How sweet the sound that saved a rich? like me. How long but now I'm found was blind but now I see. Hi. Hard not to be reminded of. Hard not to be reminded of President Obama's singing that same song at the Mother Emmanuel Church. A song that in our culture is as close to both poetry and prayer as you could possibly come uh and we're gonna finish with those two things. Let me introduce Amanda Gorman uh our nation's first-ever national poet laureate. Mister president Doctor Biden Madam vice president mister M Americans and the World 1 day comes we ask ourselves Where can we find light in this never-ending shade The loss we carry AC. We must weigh we've braved the the belly of Beast. We've learned that quiet isn't always peace. In the norms and notions of what just is isn't always just is and yet the dawn is ours before we knew it somehow we do it somehow we've weathered and witnessed a nation that isn't broken, but unfinished we the successors of a country and the time where a skinny black girl descended from slaves and raised by a single mother can dream of becoming president. Only to find herself reciting for one and yes we are far from polished far from pristine, but that doesn't mean we are striving to form a union that is perfect. We are striving to forge our union with purpose to compose a country committed to all cultures colors characters and conditions of man and so we lift our gaze not to what stands between us but what stands. Before us, we close the divide because we know to put our future first, we must first put our differences aside, we lay down our arms so we can reach out our arms to one another we seek harm to none and harmony for all. let the globe if nothing else say this is true that even as we grieved, we grew that even as we hurt, we hope that even as we tired, we tried that will forever. Tied together victorious, not because we will never again no defeat, but because we will never again so division Scripture tells us to envision that everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree and no one so make them afraid if we're to live up to our own time, then victory won't lie in the blade, but in all the bridges we've made that is the promise to go. He'll climb if only we dare it because being American is more than a pride, we inherit. it's the past we step into and how we repair it We've seen a forest that would shatter our nation rather than share it would destroy our country if if it meant delaying democracy in this efforts very nearly succeeded. but while democracy can be periodically delay. It could never be permanently defeated in this truth in this faith we trust for while we have our eyes on the future history has its eyes on us. This is the era of just redemption. We fear it and it's inception. we did not feel prepared to be the heirs of such a terrifying hour, but within it, we found the power to author a new chapter to offer hope and laughter to ourselves. While once we asked how could we possibly prevail over catastrophe now we assert how could catastrophe possibly prevail over us? We will not march back to what was, but move to what shall be a country that is bruised but whole benevolence, but bold fierce and free we will not be turned around or by intimidation because we know our action. I will be the inheritance of the next generation, our blenders become their burdens, but one thing is certain if emerges mercy with mites the mites with rights, then love becomes our legacy in change our children's birthright so let us leave behind the country better than one we were left with every breath in my bronze pounded chest. We raised this wounded world into a wondrous one we will rise from the Golden Hills of the. We will rise from the wind swept northeast where our forefathers first realized revolution we will rise from the lake Rim cities of the Midwestern states. We will rise from the Sun South, we will rebuild reconcile and recover in every nook of our nation in every corner called our country, our people diverse and beautiful will emerge battered and beautiful when day comes we step out of the shade of flame and unafraid The. Dawn balloons as we free it for there is always light if only we're brave enough to see it if only we're brave enough to be in. So if you've just joined us, Joe Biden and Pamela Harris have been sworn in as the new president and vice president of the United States and this year's inauguration ceremony has been described as unlike all other, unlike any other one of the most visible differences comes in along the National Mall in place of thousands of cheering Americans as we saw nearly 200000 flags now decorate the scene along with 56 pillars of lights they represent each state us territory so a very different looking DC than what we're used to entities. Miguel Moreno. Is there he spoke with some people there to get their thoughts so Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have now been inaugurated efficiently now President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and we were walking around DC for a while trying to find spots for people to interview and we didn't see many people around. there really weren't that many demonstrators for the most part. We saw a lot of the media so we did see a lot of that. and by here we did manage to find the most people in this area so. Many of them are Joe Biden supporters. Some of Some of them have been the inauguration ceremony from their phone, so there was a lot of cheering whatever any big events it took place. I'm assuming that's why they were cheering and we walked around and we did get some people's uh perspectives on this uh lock down this really big lock down that we have because many of these areas around the National Mall as you already know I've been logged down the same with the White House and the capital building, but uh some of them said that they think it was. They think that it wasn't necessary, they wish it didn't have to come to this, they said. But they felt it was necessary. so we're gonna go ahead and show you some of those interviews. now, you know, I don't know what's gonna happen next 4 years, but I think that this I hope it doesn't boil over but uh it's definitely not gonna go away and what would you like? what would you like to see in the next 4 years? well uh from the bid in the administration well? For me, personally, I'm not a huge supporter I uh I disagree well, I have some policy contents some contents on other things, but uh I am excited to see Joe Biden in the Oval Office, mostly because I really want the United States to have to regain its respect on the global political stage again Uh I really you know. When we have uh us diplomats or you know the president going overseas to talk to foreign leaders, Miguel and we'll take you back to the inauguration ceremony with Joe Biden and Pamela Harris. We'll go back back there we seek rehabilitation beyond correction with extend opportunity to those locked out of opportunity We will make friends of our enemies. We will make friends of our enemies people your people shall no longer raise up weapons against one another we will rather use our resources for the national good and. I'm a beacon of life and good will to the world and neither shall we learn hatred anymore. You'll lie down in peace, not make our neighbors afraid in you. Oh god we discover our humanity and our humanity. We discover our common beyond the difference of color Creed Origin political party ideology geography and personal preference. Will become greater stewards of your environment preserving the land reaping from it A sustainable harvest is securing its wonder and miracle giving power for generations to come. This is our benediction that from these hallowed grounds, we're slaves labored to build this shrine and to liberty and democracy. Let us all. From the indigenous need of American. The those who recently received their citizenship. From the African American to those whose four parents came from Europe and every corner of the globe. From the wealthy to those struggling to make it. Every human being regardless of their choices that this is our country. As such teachers or God as such Teach us oh god to live in it loving it be healed in it and reconcile to one another in it unless we miss kingdom's goal to your Glory. Majesty Dominion and Power forever. Hallelujah Glory Hallelujah and the strong name. Our collective faith. Amen. Please remain standing as the armed forces color guard retires our national colors. Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated and remaining deceit while the president and official party depart the platform for safety reasons Your ushers will release your section in an organized manner following the playing of our National March, the stars and Stripes forever. So as we watch the newly elected president and vice president leaving the platform, we're going to go to now, Florida, where the now former vice president is we have entities Melina Wise Cup is there? Here in West Palm Beach is still pretty high as you can see there's still a few Trump supporters back here behind me that are just hanging out and really just carrying out with this enthusiasm earlier, the group of Trump supporters stretched all the way down the sidewalks um so we're here about a five-minute drive from Mara Lago, which is President Trump's new permanent home and uh the Trump's supporters here, which is welcoming him and Melania as they rode through to their new permanent home here um so, yeah the enthusiasm super high. Here we spoke to a number of Trump supporters who told us that they just want uh they wanted Trump to feel their unwavering dedication and support. That's why they came here today to show their support and it looks like Trump actually did feel that it seemed. He was very touched him and Melania both had super big smiles on their faces as they rode through here on their way over to their permanent home now um so we're just here. speaking with Vanessa, which has been here the whole time right even here pretty much. I just got here right after the motorcade, I kinda miss that part. But okay, yeah, cuz he drift to her. I think a couple he touched down at around 1045 President Trump did and then just drove right on through here and uh saw the supporters here. So I just wanted to ask you. Vanessa. What is the message that you hope Trump felt as he was driving through here seeing all these supporters well, I think we all I know personally. I want him to know that we're so proud of him and despite all of the abuse that he's had to put up with you know since even before he got elected and during his entire office, all of the push back and the uh. Back then the impeachment attempts and all these things that came out and we want them to know that he stood by his word and by making America great again and we're very proud of him. I'm very proud of him. I think he's done more for this country um than any president I've ever seen in my lifetime and I as a small child witness JB assassinated as a spoiler. so that was traumatic. I'm from Massachusetts. uh no the Kennedys and we loved and supported them and thought JFK was a great president so to see that and come forward so. Decades and see me like President Trump come in and really um set an agenda and work hard to protect families and workers and jobs in this country and make it great again. I think he did a fabulous job despite what he has to go back. So we want him to know how proud we are, despite what you know he's hearing and you know how the social media is blocking him. We want him to know behind him still whatever he does moving forward and we wanna be there to turn this all around when we when we get the opportunity. Yeah. thank you for sharing that Vanessa and she said she was an independent recently and she just started. I've been an independent. I don't believe in the party system. I used to ask my dad as a small child, You know didn't make sense to me. I vote for the person. What are they gonna do for me my country my town and um I really saw early on that we needed someone outside of the swamp so to speak right to set things right and I think that despite everything they threw. Him uh when I went through the list of accomplishments, there's 42 pages of things that Trump did. I didn't realize I've watched some videos and was quite shocked to see all the things he did accomplish. I want people to remember that and not to think of him as you know I saw headlines saying the carnage of the Trump presidency. That's just not true and we know many of them. I saw the reports this morning were um labeling him as a former president or ex-president, something like that and my question I mean for my memory the presidents are supposed are always called president. Even after their turns are up so that was very jarring for me. personally, this has been been a whole of disrespect and trying to remove someone who is legally elected and was legally elected by an insight this time, and I hope that will play itself out. however, it can um you know through the courts or through the military system. However, it has to go we need to show that Trump did in fact win this election by a landslide and um the rightful president is not taking an oath of office today and we need to. To be strong for that because I hope that will get turned around and the justice will be served. I think one of the questions also moving forward is like what will Trump even be doing in the next couple of years because like you said in many of people, many of the Trump supporters here echoed with Vanessa has said about um they they're gonna follow Trump They're dedicated to him whatever he does, and we know. Trump has said that he this is just the beginning. he said that multiple times best is yet come. He continually says that and all the people around him say that because we are at the beginning, we can't let this country fall back. Into uh the evil that had has been controlling it for so long and we can't allow the work that he did to be undone because we'll backslide we will be handed over to to a new world order and that's not what we want. So what do you think is gonna happen? I mean, I asked a couple of supporters, but you'll see what their responses were to that. in just a moment we'll play some of those interviews for you, but I just want to ask you Vanessa. what do you think it means when Trump says he's gonna keep moving forward? Some say he's just gonna use the fan base that he already has and really just uh push. The America first policy just with the local governments and trying to keep people just involved and connected, but others are saying he's gonna run for president again in 24. What do you think he means by the best is yet to come Well? II Think like he said this is bigger than anyone party. It's not left or right. It's not Democrat or Republican. It's not you know uh it is a movement about keeping America and making America great and continuing the great policies that he started. There's so much more work to do. I think that he will support other, you know political candidates. Behind the scenes to get things moving forward again and I believe we won't have to wait till 24 to see him back in a leadership role in the United States and that's just my personal opinion. I believe that there is um you know when these court cases and some of the stuff about the election comes out and it's actually sees the light of day and the facts are presented There is international trees and involved here and I believe it needs to be it needs to be um addressed and um things need to be put right if that means removing the current president we already hear talk of. Uh people in the government in uh um the House of representatives that are gonna vote to impeach Biden before he even gets to serve a month. so I mean I can only hope because we know who the real winner of this election was those of us who voted the figures and fact there and we know we know what the fraud was is rampant evidence of it. Yeah, So we need to see that play out and I think that could be much sooner than twenty. so yeah, we'll have to see many of the supporters. We spoke to also Echo Echo her saying hopefulness the sense of. Enthusiasm and hopefulness still is like all through. I mean it's what 2 hours later and we still have some people here still showing their support. So I mean earlier, we'll show you some of the people we spoke to who also echo some of the things that's saying here so we'll just have to wait and see right now. I think it's just a waiting game to see how Trump's gonna continue to present himself to the public and what how he's gonna what ways he's gonna be involved in this Make America great again movement that he started over the past 4 years. Yeah, it's about our country. It's about our freedoms. It's about our rights. We cannot if we love a America. We love being in American being Americans. We have to stand up for our rights and that's what he gave us and like I said bigger than Trump himself, but he has been the leader of this movement. We wanna keep it going cuz it's good for all. It's good for all Americans. That's also yeah and that's also something um, she says. We wanna keep it going right so early. We spoke to some people who say that they think that these rallies are still gonna go on. We spoke to uh voters for Trump. He started a website connecting people all around the nation to do this. I know you guys have seen the boat parades all through the past 4 years so. We'll have to wait and see if any of that stuff will keep go uh keep happening moving forward and so I guess we'll see over the next couple of years right uh we we shall see the best is yet to come and I believe we should all be hopeful and there is a god up there and he has some hand in this. thank you so much. Vanessa Thank you so we'll show you some of the other people we spoke to now. Brian Craig, who is the founder of the Brian Craig radio show. So we're just wondering Brian. What is your motivation for being here? How do you hope that Trump feels when he's driving through here? I want Trump to feel the love. We all have for him not just here in Palm Beach but all over the country, you know there's 80000000 of us. We've dedicated our lives to him and the manga movement and it's not gonna go away today. You know this guy he beat the pandemic he had the Corona. He's not not gonna today. bring him down. He's gonna come back and he's gonna be the 47th president of the United States too. So is that what you think he's referring to cuz there's been a lot of talk. This is not over you know Trump's eluding to this is just the beginning of the the mega movement right. So do you think that means? Gonna run again in 2024 be involved in some other way. Well, I think he's gonna run again. now, you know now. the mega movement is gonna be here forever. The Republican Party was a third party one time too, when Lincoln was elected. so this is he's gonna back people like Ron DeSantis here in Florida to run for president in the future. He's gonna be with us for many years to come So what do you think about uh moving forward? I mean in the next couple of days. Do you think that anything will change as far far as um the enthusiasm here? Do you think that there's still gonna be. Rallies and weekend events there's gonna be rallies. I don't know if they're gonna let him have any rallies anytime soon because at the Capitol, they're gonna use that to say you can't have rallies anymore, but let me tell you there will be rallies. There'll be another Trump rally and we're gonna be out here all the time supporting him every time he goes to the store you know and that's something I wanna ask you about bring up the capital breach right so I'm I'm wondering from your perspective. Do you think that's caused Trump to lose support or do you think that it's just caused um people to just see even further? How? The media can twist facts in order to fit a narrative. What do you think? well? The capital breach capital breach of course was but uh that's not Trump's fault. They I think it's made his support even firmer and stronger and made us even more united behind him for blaming him for something that he had nothing to do with. you know he wasn't at the Capitol. The breach started while he was still speaking before he got to the part that they said instigated the event. So no, it's made us a stronger support of him and it's unified us even more behind him. uh reporting on your platform on the radio. Now that the new administration has taken office, No absolutely not. I'm gonna be with Trump wearing this mega hat till the day I die. I'm gonna be buried in this mega hat and this is this is the beginning of a movement that is gonna be here for the next 150 years, The mega movement making America Great again isn't 4 years or 8 years. This is this is a century long projects. so what do you think can happen on the grassroots level? Now? I mean we know that Trump can continue. He's built a large following so he can continue to lead people from his fan base that he's built up. but what do you think people can do it from the grassroots movement from the grassroots level to really uh propel. Uh make America great again effort Well, the thing we can do is stay connected through social media hopefully parlor, but if not stay on Twitter until we get an alternative and keep meeting as a mega party because you know the only thing I'm waiting for is Trump gonna run as a Republican, or is it gonna form the third party? That's in whatever he does. We're gonna be behind him. Thank you so much. Alright. Thank you. Thanks Melina and we have Miguel Moreno on the ground in DC if we can get Miguel Miguel. Hi there Good afternoon Paul. So yeah, we're here at the Capitol and uh vice president uh Joe Biden Sorry president Excuse me President Joe Biden was slipped on that one. Yeah, President Joe Biden said that in his speech that this was America's day, said that this wasn't a win for a certain candidate that this was a win for democracy. so now that he is president and Kamala Harris is vice-president There were a lot of day one promises that he made. he talked about they're being a path to citizenship for Daca, recipients and many other. Things so now we just have to wait and see if all of this is going to happen today. Will it happen tomorrow? I'm not sure if it uh we have to find out. Miguel thanks so much so despite all the enthusiasm in Florida as Miguel mentioned, we do have a new president and vice president uh Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They still have some activities later today for here at ND as the end of our live stream. Thank you so much for watching. we'll see you soon.
